I Had a Dream…
I Had a Dream.
I had a dream
That I lived in a nation
Where I was only
Valued
By the color of
My Skin.
My Skin
Had no
Value.
I had a dream today!
That one day on the red hills of
Georgia
A white father and son
Killed a young Black man in
Cold blood
All in the name of
….Justice
I had a dream today!
Up in The Twin Cities
A Black man’s
Life
Slowly ebbed from his
Limp body
By the weight of his oppressor’s knee
Crying to the heavens for
Mercy.
I had a dream today!
That a little
Black Boy
Falsely accused
Had enormous
Electric currents
Course through
His body
Destroying his nerves
Destroying his
Life
Only to be acquitted
When he no longer had
Life
I had a dream today!
That having a hood on my head
Became a crime
That in this land
There is never
A right place
Nor a right time
Candy and beverage
Spilt on the pavement
Poured out
Mixed with his blood
Next to his lifeless figure.
I had a dream today.
They said to have
Hope
To keep up the
Faith
Why should we hope?
When will our faith turn
The harmonious cries for justice
To a symphony of true freedom?
I woke up from
The Dream
Screaming
Crying at the top of my lungs
Filled by the pain of
The souls of those who came before and
The spirits of those to come after
“Still not free!
Still not free!
If God even hears our cry
Why are we still not free!”
But,
No one could hear me
No one can hear us….
I pledge forced submission
To the flag
Of the Divided States of AmeriKKKa
and to the Oligarchy
For which it falls
Many nations
Covered in blood
Purposely divided
With bondage and injustice for all
.........Unless you’re white that is
