Who deserves our Love?

And who should we give it to?

Love comes from the heart

How could it ever be

Broken?

Why does it hurt to love

When you no longer can?

When all your Love

Dry

Completely diminished

Reduced to a distant

Painful memory

Bring myself to Love

Again

Is like the Rose

That grew from the concrete

A picture of beauty

In the midst of 

Barrenness

No source of life

Yet life emanating within

Blooming petals

Stiff

Stem of thorns

To protect me

From those who might try 

To pick me up

Grounded beneath the soil

Releasing only for the right

One to pick me

Yes

My love is conditional
